Mackintosh 10 For 11 At Concord

Kannapolis,NC

Saturday night saw the #03 NorthEastLegends.com car back in victory lane for the 10th time this season at Concord Speedway in Midland,NC.

The victory helps solidfy Ryan Mackintosh's lead atop the INEX Semi-Pro Legend points standing.

"We certainly have been able to get things working over the last month or so", commented Mackintosh. "We are not taking anything for granted and we continue to work hard in the shop to improve. The competition continues to get better every time out."

Mackintosh will be back in action at Concord this coming Friday night.

Update From Concord Speedway

Midland,NC

Canadian driver Ryan Mackintosh continued his dominance at Concord Speedway Saturday night with his 7th win of the seaon at the NASCAR Home Track in Midland, NC.

Mackintosh qualified on the pole and lead the event from green flag to checkered flag to take his seventh victory in 8 starts on the 1/4 mile.

Pass On Lap 18 Leads To Victory #6

Midland,NC

After qualifying 2nd for the Friday night feature, Ryan Mackintosh was able to bring his #03 NorthEastLegends.com Semi-Pro Legend home with another victory.

The Chris Wood's Racing team has now grabbed the checkered flag 6 of 7 times at Concord Speedway.

"Josh (Brimecombe) is fast every race and it's battle", stated Mackintosh from the team's shop in Kannapolis, NC

Mackintosh, who currently leads the INEX points series in the United States, will be back in action again this evening at Concord Speedway.

Mackintosh Takes One of Two

Concord,NC

The #03 NorthEastLegends.com car battled its way to a 2nd place finish here on Friday evening.

"We could get close but not set up the pass due to the leader dropping oil on the track", stated owner Woody Woods.

The Josh Brimecomb entry won the pole and was able to hold off Mackintosh to take home his first win of the season at Concord.

Saturday night saw Mackintosh capture the pole by the narrowest of margins. Mackintosh took the lead from the start and held it to the end of the race.

Mackintosh commented after the race,"we were glad to hold on for the win with the car starting to really tighten up."

The Chris Woods Racing team and Mackintosh have captured 5 out of 6 of the events so far in this early season at Concord Speedway.

Mackintosh Sweeps Concord Again

Midland, NC

"Don't wake me up", stated a happy Ryan Mackintosh after his 2nd win of the weekend at Concord Speedway in Midland, NC.
The 16 year old enjoyed another dream weekend winning both scheduled events on the NASCAR sanctioned track for the second weekend in a row.

Team Co-owner, Chris "Woody" Woods commented,"Ryan and been working hard and the results are coming."

Similar to last week's events, Mackintosh started on the front row of both races, qualifying 2nd in his #03 NorthEastLegends.com Semi-Pro
Legend car. Friday saw Mackintosh take the lead on lap 13 and win by nearly a straightaway at the line. Saturday, the young Canadian, took the lead on lap one and drove away from the field for his 4th victory of the official 2013 point season and 4th straight win at Concord.
 


Mackintosh has taken the green flag 19 times in 2013 and has collected the checkered flag and the win 10 times.

The 2013 INEX points season concludes in October and has over 200 competitiors in the Legend Semi-Pro division. Drivers receive points from coast to coast in INEX sanctioned events.
 
The toughest weekly competition takes place in the mid-Atlantic United States on short tracks such as Concord, Rockingham,Orange County, Hickory,Caraway and many more.
 
INEX  hosts the 10 event Charlotte Motor Speedway Summer Shootout, televised on Fox Sports, held in July. The Summer Shootout is always the highlight on all racer's schedules.

Mackintosh Sweeps Opening Weekend At Concord Speedway

The 2013 points season is just underway in the United States and Amherst native Ryan Mackintosh has sent a message that he is prepared to chase the national points title.

Mackintosh was able to dominate both INEX Semi-Pro events this weekend at Concord Speedway in North Carolina.

Friday night Mackintosh started 2nd but took the lead by passing the pole sitter on the first lap with a daring move on the outside. The Canadian driver then held off the field in two late restarts to claim the win.

Saturday evening Mackintosh put his #03 Legend Car on the pole, setting a new track qualifying record in the process. The 16 year old went on to lead from flag to flag and capture his second win in as many nights.

Mackintosh has had a solid start to 2013 already winning the INEX Winter Heat Series and the Battle of the Carolinas Series.

Mackintosh Wins King of Carolina Legends Title at Rockingham

Amherst, Nova Scotia teenager Ryan Mackintosh won the 'King of Carolina' title at Rockingham Speedway Saturday - just one week after winning the prestigious INEX Winter Heat championship at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The King of Carolina Legends event was run in two segments on the road course at Rockingham with all divisions on the track at one time; Mackintosh won both ends of his semi pro division en route to his latest title.

Mackintosh Wins Prestigious INEX Winter Heat Championship

Amherst native wins championship title at INEX Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway

KANNAPOLIS, NC (January 27, 2013) - Amherst, Nova Scotia's Ryan Mackintosh drove to the front of the pack and to a championship win in Charlotte on Sunday. The 16-year-old won the last two events of the INEX Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) and took home the Legend Car Semi-Pro Championship in the process.

Mackintosh, a graduate of the Maritime Canadian karting and Bandolero racing, picked up his most prestigious title to date with the INEX crown.

"I am so excited to win this for my team and everyone who helps us out," said Mackintosh.

Mackintosh earned the title with two wins on the oval and two wins on the road course during the Winter Heat series at CMS.

"Winning a race anywhere is certainly great, winning a championship is even greater but doing it at Charlotte feels amazing," said team co-owner Chris Woods. "Having a chance to show your skill in this neighborhood is always a plus for a young driver like Ryan."

Mackintosh has been driving for Chris Woods Racing the past three seasons and competes in the INEX Legends National Series and in the Allison Legacy Series. Chris Woods Racing is based in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

All Tied Up With Two To Go

The 2013 Winter Heat is down to two events to go on the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course.

The competition in the Semi-Pro division has been close from the drop of the first green flag prior to Christmas on the 1/4 mile oval.  Ryan Mackintosh, Reid Wilson and Riley Halverson have all taken their turns winning races and leading the points standings.

Going into Saturday's event both Riley Halverson and Ryan Mackintosh are tied for the lead with Wilson just 6 points behind in third.

"It should be a great finish to the series,"commented Ryan Mackintosh in an interview today from Concord, NC. "It will be tight to the end,"continued the Canadian driver.

Saturday's event has the potential of being postponed with winter-like weather expected in the area on Friday.

Mackintosh Perfect At Charlotte

"You dream about days like this when you are in any sport, you just don't have them happen that often", 16 year old Amherst native Ryan Mackintosh.

The Mecca of stock car racing, Charlotte Motor Speedway, hosted a rare double-header event to open the 2012-2013 INEX Winter Heat Series on Saturday afternoon.
Drivers from three Bandolero and four Legend Car divisions took to the storied speedway's quarter mile front stretch track.

"The Winter Heat Series is our chance to have the spotlight in the Charlotte area. Teams, owners and drivers from NASCAR show up every weekend to watch what we can do", stated Mackintosh from the Cup garage after the #03 NorthEastLegends.com Semi-Pro Legend cleared tech inspection for the second time of the day.

Mackintosh showed them exactly what he can do as he started his second season behind the wheel of a Legend Car. Mackintosh placed first in both qualifying sessions in the morning. The Canadian driver then went on to win his heat race for event one before battling with North Carolina's Reid Wilson for the win in the 25 lap feature. Mackintosh led the entire race with the exception of half a lap in the early stages.

Mackintosh's Chris Woods Racing team came back for the afternoon session and repeated the script once more. Mackintosh dominated his heat race then led from flag to flag in the 25 lap second feature of the day to take the win infront of Wilson and Pennsylvania's Joe Ryan Osbourne. The two wins give Mackintosh the early lead in the seven event series that will see two more races on the quarter mile and three on the Speedway's mile and a half road course.

Team owner Chris "Woody" Woods stated,"It was a great start to this important series. It is rare we race twice in one day but I couldn't be happier with the result."

The next race will be January 5th at Charlotte Motor Speeday.

Mackintosh Grabs One Of Two At The Rock

Rockingham,NC

The Chris Woods Racing team headed to The Rock this Sunday for a rare double header.  Amherst driver, Ryan Mackintosh, was on track for the INEX Semi-Pro feature as well as the Rockingham "Money" Race.

"We had a some solid practice sessions in the morning and hoped it would translate to the features and we were certainly happy with the result in the Semi-Pro feature", commented Mackintosh from the Andy Hillenburg owned North Carolina circuit.

Mackintosh battled divisional rival Joe Ryan Osbourne throughout the feature and was able to grab the checkered flag and the win for his Kannapolis based team.

In "open division" Money Race Mackintosh qualified 3rd out of the 27 car field and was able to move to the lead after a lap one incident with the front row cars.  The battle continued for 12 more laps with Kaz Grala, Stevie Johns and Brayton Haws. 

"Unfortunately, we just broke a part.  It's just racing", stated team co-owner Chris "Woody" Woods.  With a broken brake caliper Mackintosh was forced to retire.

The team will be back at the The Rock this weekend as the southern swing of the winter season continues.

Preparing For United States Nationals

Atlanta Motor Speedway will play host to INEX United States Legend Car Nationals.  The #03 NorthEastLegends.com semi-pro Legend is being prepared for the event in the Chris Woods Racing shop in Kannapolis, NC

Woods stated,"we are hoping to be competitive, there will be a lot of good cars and drivers there."

Driver Ryan Mackintosh is completing his rookie season in the Legend Car and is also hoping for a solid "finish" to the 2012 season.  Mackintosh commented from the team's shop,"we haven't raced at Atlanta before. It should be a fun challenge, a lot like Charlotte but I am sure it will be different as well."

Nationals begins on Wednesday with practice sessions and concludes on Saturday.

Mackintosh Ends Points Season With Podium

Concord,NC

The 1/4 mile at Concord Motorsports Park was the site of Ryan Mackintosh's final points race of 2012 in his NorthEastLegends.com Semi-Pro Legend Car.

"We had no plans to run this much in the car but we really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Hoping we can chase after the Semi-Pro national championship next season", commented Mackintosh from his shop in Kannapolis, NC

The Canadian driver finished the final race with a second place finish after starting the feature in 7th. "We were right there", stated team owner Chris "Woody" Woods.

The team will now focus on preparing the car for United States Nationals at Atlanta Motor Speedway at the end of the month.

Back In Action

The Chris Woods Racing Team and Ryan Mackintosh will be back in action this Saturday night at Caraway.

Mackintosh will be piloting the #03 NorthEastLegends.com Semi-Pro Legend car.

The following week, Mackintosh will make his return to the Allison Legacy Series in a 50 lapper at Hickory.

Mackintosh Wins Series Finale

Concord, NC

The final checkered flag dropped on the 2012 Summer Shootout series at Charlotte Motor Speedway last night. As the flag flew on the stand Ryan Mackintosh crossed the finish line in first place in his NorthEastLegends.com #03 Semi-Pro Legend.

The series wrapped up last night with Tyler Hill of Port Tobacco, Maryland winning the series and Mackintosh finishing the summer event in 4th place.

"It is great to get a win here. It is not an easy place to pick up a win. The cars and competition is amazing", commented a very happy driver while still in technical inspection at the Speedway. "I am happy for Tyler, we were team mates for a season in the Bandolero class and we raced for a season in the Allison Legacy as well."

Mackintosh started the feature in 7th place and was able to work his way up to second when the caution flew on with 8 laps to go. Mackintosh got the bumper of the leader Hill and moved him up the track to take the lead. The #03 had to survive one final restart with 4 laps to go and take the checkered flag.

The past few weeks have been very exciting for Mackintosh and the Chris Woods Racing team. The Canadian driver has only raced 26 times in a Legend car and has picked up the Semi-Pro title at LegendStock in New York, the Red,White and Blue Championship at Charlotte and now the first Legend Car Feature win at the Summer Shootout.
