Saturday and Sunday Recap
Kannapolis,NC
The #03 Scotia Hyundai/BAMvip.com Bandolero won its qualifying heat and started pole for the feature Saturday evening in Concord, NC.
Mackintosh battled some minor handling issues and spun in turn #2 while running second. Starting from the back or the field the #03 Chris Woods Racing car worked its way back through the field before being involved in a multi-car wreck that brought out the red flag on the final lap. Track officials scored Mackintosh in 8th position when the results were published Monday.
On Sunday in Rockingham, Mackintosh started at the back of the field after a poor qualifying effort. On the start of the race Mackintosh made a pass on the inside which track officials deemed as "jumping the start". After the #03 worked its way through the entire field to take the lead it was sent to the back of the line for the infraction on the start. The race director Ollie Spain stated that Rockingham was using this policy so as not to have to restart the race after an issue at the green flag.
The #03 was able to work its way up to 5th place after the restart coming from the back of the pack in 5 laps.
The Chris Woods Racing Team will be back on the track this Friday at Concord Speedway.

Tough Break But Solid Outing At Concord
Concord, NC
For the second time this season a simple valve stem puts the end to a good run at Concord.
The #03 started in ninth in the qualifying heat early in the evening and Ryan Mackintosh was able to gain four positions to place the car 5th on the grid for the feature.
After a single lap of the 20 lap feature Mackintosh had moved from 5th to 2nd behind the #4 car of John Holleman. The top two postions stayed the same for another 14 laps with some shuffling of positions behind as other top cars worked their way forward.
With five laps to go the front bumper of the #1 car made contact with the wheel and valve stem of the #03 causing the tire to quickly lose air and the car to spin. The tire was changed by the crew but the #03 re-entered the field one lap down and had to settle for an 8th place finish.
"It was too bad for the bad break, we had a good car and Ryan had done such a good job getting up to second,"stated Woody Woods. "Maybe it is this car that has some bad luck attached to it. We have 4 more race ready cars at the shop. Maybe we need to see if one of them would have better luck here," joked Woods after the race.
The Chris Woods Raicng team and #03 Scotia Hyundai/BAMvip.com Bandolero will be back in action Saturday at Concord as they complete the scheduled back to back events.

#03 Ryan Mackintosh Wins At Concord
Concord,NC
The #03 Chris Woods Racing Bandolero driven by Ryan Mackintosh took the green flag outside of Row #1 for the INEX Bandolero Outlaw feature on Friday night in Concord. The #4 Holleman car held the lead off of the start and maintained it for 13 laps and one restart.
A green white checker finish would see Mackintosh duck under the #4 on the restart as the cars passed the start finish line. Mackintosh was forced down to the infield and actually had a wheel in the grass heading into turn 1. Both cars were side by side through turns 1 and 2 with #03 able to clear the #4 exiting turn 2. The #92 Reid Wilson car was able to follow Mackintosh through and the final lap ended with Mackintosh taking the win with the #92 and #4 rounding out the top 3.
The win gave Mackintosh the opportunity to thank his supporters and sponsors. Christi and Woody Woods of Chris Woods Racing, BAMvip.com, Scotia Hyundai, The Joie of Seating, RPM Pro-Formance, Chris Woods Cut Tires, Broklyn's Pizza of Concord, NAPA of Amherst, Casey Concrete, PBS Waste, Sunrise Tools and Kevin Perpete.
The win was Ryan Mackintosh's first feature win at Concord Speedway. The Chris Woods Racing team will be in action again Saturday at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC.

Mackintosh Places 2nd at Rockingham
Rockingham,NC
Two practice sessions on Sunday morning at Rockingham had the #03 near the top of the speed chart. The top three cars were within 3/100s of a second as they ran the Lil'Rock course for the two practices.
Qualifying did not go as well as expected for the Chris Woods Racing team but when the smoke cleared Mackintosh started in 6th on the grid.
The feature was caution free, which did not help the #03, with the #20 and #4 cars opening up a gap on Mackintosh as he battled through to gain thrid position. Mackintosh and Justin Carroll, team mate for this event, were closing the gap on the lead drivers but ran out of laps. A post race incident had the #4 car and driver John Holleman disqualified moving Mackintosh up one position to second behind race winner Riley Halverson.
Mackintosh was pleased with the car all day but was not happy with his qualifying effort on the day.

#03 In The Mix At Concord
Concord, NC
A spin on the first lap of the qualifying heat put the #03 Chris Woods Racing Bandolero to the back of the line to start off the evening. Driver Ryan Mackintosh was able to battle back and finish the qualifying heat in third giving him position 5 on the feature starting grid.
The feature was full of action and some mayhem. The #12 and #2X made heavy contact early on forcing the #2X Adam Nelson car to have to retire. The next 5 laps saw a three way battle for the lead between the #4, #92 and the #03. Side by side racing with lots of action and some contact as the drivers pushed hard for position.
On the final restart the #4 Holleman car was able to find some daylight leaving the #92 Wilson car and the Mackintosh Bando to seemingly battle it out for second. Coming to out of turn 4 for the final time Mackintosh was able to get under Wilson but in doing so left the bottom open for the #11 car of Ben Klatt to join the chase. All three cars came to the line sandwiched together with the call from the tower having it Klatt, Wilson and Mackintosh for 2nd-4th.
Although dissappointed with the final result Mackintosh said,"we all(the drivers) were talking about it after the race, I have never had so much fun in a race car." Crew Chief Woody Woods commented on all the on track contact,"it was just good hard racing for position all race."
The team will make another stop at Rockingham on Sunday.

Photo finish at Concord Speedway. The #03,black Bandolero in the middle, is scored 4th.

Happy Anniversary
Kannapolis,NC
It is hard to believe that this weekend will be the one year anniversary of Ryan Mackintosh's first race in North Carolina. A long 30 plus hours of driving, which included a Spring snowstorm, brought the driver and his equipment to Mooresville.
The trip was intended to be a 10 day outing to race two times and get some direction in the area of car setup for the season back home in Nova Scotia. The two races turned into five, which included a race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and a few days were added to the schedule. Friendships were started that quickly led to the #24 scheduling a return trip to North Carolina prior to starting back north. One year and 60 plus races for Chris Woods Racing later Mackintosh is still enjoying his experience.
Mackintosh raced his first Bandolero race in the U.S. at Concord Speedway and will be back there this coming Friday night in the #03 CWRR/Scotia Hyundai Bandolero. The goal this time will be much different;one year ago "we just don't want to finish last". This year the #03 sets its sites on the checkers every time out.

Third at Rockingham
Rockingham, NC
For the second time in one weekend Ryan Mackintosh finished in thrid place in the #03 Chris Woods Racing Bandolero.
Rockingham was one of the toughest outings of the season to date for the team with an 8th place finish in the qualifying heat.
Mackintosh was able to battle back in the feature and settled down in fourth place for several laps and this looked like where he would finish the day until bad luck struck the #20 car. Halverson spun while battling for the lead and this allowed Mackintosh to pick up one more position.
This is three third place finishes in three attempts at Rockingham.

Confusion At Concord and a Top 3 Finish
Concord,NC
Ryan Mackintosh took to the track at Concord Speedway in his back up car on Friday night. The first heat saw Mackintosh start the heat in thrid and finish in third. The Chris Woods Racing car was,"good but was running two tenths off the pace of the (primary) #03 car",stated crew cheif Woody Woods.
In the feature a first lap incident saw the #92 and #2x car collide and go to the back then the confusion began. The tower black flagged the 2x and told him to go to the trailer. Then at some point they decided to change this decision. The #2x stayed on the track and continued to race with many drivers confused as to why he was still on the track racing.
Mackintosh started the feature in 5th and restarted the race in second after the restart on lap one. Able to hold second behind the #4 and it looked like a second place finish was in site. A late yellow allowed the #2x to get inside and get by Mackintosh on the final restart. At the checkers Mackintosh was confident he had still held second with the tower black flagging the #2x.
The #03 will be back in action Sunday at Rockingham.
